The challenge

What was in the way

Weak average ranking position was capping visibility on high-intent keywords. URL structure, hreflang and rendering issues were holding pages back from competing on page one.

What I did
  1. Implemented hreflang and schema markup so search engines served the right language version.
  2. Restructured site URLs and coordinated with the dev team on server-side rendering and redirects.
  3. Fixed indexing issues surfaced in Search Console before they compounded.
  4. Prioritised fixes on the highest traffic-potential pages first, then worked down the list.

Reading the numbers

Clicks and CTR moved together on this one: more impressions and a better click-through rate at the same time. That usually means the ranking gains landed on queries that were already relevant, not on new, looser ones.
